To this end I have studied everywhere and everything I can, especially classical riding and dressage. After study comes practice and I prefer to ride the Creek Terrace horses myself. It's surprising what can be learned without access to regular instruction. I am thankful for the unique opportunities I do have. There's great joy and some wisdom to be gained by working with the same family of horses year after year. And also by working with similar horses I don't have to know so much! The opportunity to progress is greater with good horses of similar conformation and similar upbringing and temperament simply because it's not necessary to learn about so many types. I have raised, backed and ridden ten Kingfisher bred horses, 7 from my own stallion and I am starting to "get the picture" of what they need and what they can do.
